Chicago City Moms' Secrets: Part 1

By lindsay

For those of you who had the opportunity to join Bump Club and Beyond today for our monthly New Moms Brunch, you were able to hear first hand some of the best secrets and tips for being a new mom in the city.  We are following up our brunch with a series of tips straight from our panelists.  Their information was stellar and we want to make sure that everyone has the chance to hear some of it, even if you couldn’t attend!
Our friends at Daily Candy Kids are some of the best trend spotters we know!  We pegged them to come up with a list of their favorite products for on-the-go moms.  Here are some of their top picks:
Jeremy & Renee CD: Sleepy time music for the car that doesn’t annoy the driver.

Animal Monster Hands: Ward off meltdowns during car rides with hand stickers that look like animals and monsters. They’re sized for parents’ hands, so have them ready in the front seat for a “puppet show” on the road.

Patemm Pad: Extra large changing pad perfect for restaurants that don’t have changing tables  — which means you have to do the deed on the floor. Also great for air travel.

PackIt Shop Cooler: For when you have to go to the grocery before your class at Bubbles so you can make it home in time for the nap, but don’t want the ice cream to melt.

Skip Hop Central Park Bag: The easy-to-carry, easy-to-clean (just wipe away spills), lightweight blanket unfurls to its five-by-five glory with one zip. A water-resistant canvas backing keeps wet grass from soaking bottoms.

RuMe Reveal Bags for Snacks: Machine washable, ecofriendly see thru snack bags. Also TSA approved for travel. Goodbye Ziploc.

Itzy Ritzy Bags: Another fun reusable bag in tons of colorful patterns. Also, there are wet bags that can safely hold soiled clothing.

Kleynimals: Instead of the sharp, germy, lead-filled keys you put into your ignition, your little locksmith will get a nontoxic, ecofriendly, and equally satisfying food-grade stainless steel that’s safe for her mouth.

Postcardly: Mail actual postcards of picture of your littles to family from your phone or computer. You upload a photo and type your message. Postcardly translates it to good old-fashioned paper and ink, then snail mails it off.

Dapple Baby Sink Detergent: Dirty onesies happen. Clean them in a snap with the genius travel-size version of Dapple’s baby laundry detergent. Fill a sink with water, dump the mixture in, soak, and watch stains disappear.

Supergoop Sunscreen Wipes: The easiest way to reapply on babies and toddlers – just a wipe.

Bump Club and Beyond’s New Moms Brunch: Chicago City Moms’ Secrets in the City covered topics including the best on-the-go gear, traveling on the CTA and the best “secret parking,” restaurants and eating out with your children, classes, free activities, workouts and more. Stay tuned to our blog for more secrets from our expert panel!
