As the weather gets colder, we’ve received A LOT of questions about how to keep your baby warm in the infant car seat in the winter. DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT YOUR BABY IN A DOWN COAT, OR HAVE ANYTHING BETWEEN THE BABY AND THE CAR SEAT? Ultimately, NO FLUFF! These items can change the way the car seat fits your baby possibly resulting in injury should you be in an accident. The good news, is that many brands, like our friends at 7am Enfant, have created incredible products to help us keep our winter babies toasty in the freezing cold, including this one: The Nido Car Seat Cover.
Check out this article from The Car Seat Lady that talks all about keeping baby warm in the winter in the car. (She is good friends with BCB’s Baby Gear Expert, The BabyGuyNYC and certified him as a Car Seat Passenger Safety Technician.) She helped to create the Nido with 7am Enfant (who also makes incredible stroller blankets and other awesome winter accessories!) As noted in the article, the Nido may look unsafe at first, but with it’s large hold in the back you can put baby in the car seat FIRST and make sure the straps are fitting properly, and THEN put the Nido over to keep baby warm.
Please make sure to take a minute to review the advice The Car Seat Lady gives. It’s important to know this as we move into the winter months. As a part of FIVE YEARS OF FAVORITES, we are giving away FIVE NIDO CAR SEAT COVERS RIGHT HERE!
