Diary of a Mom: Entry 8

Share:

We recently kicked off a new series you will see regularly on our blog, on Facebook and on Instagram featuring the moms of Bump Club and Beyond from across the country and their stories of motherhood. Thank you to everyone who has contributed, we look forward to sharing your vision of motherhood with the world.

Molly is my second child, when Molly was born when I had a year and a half year old at home. My son who spoiled me from day one, he came out smiling, always being a good sleeper, eater, cuddle bug,  happy ALWAYS.

To my surprise my second baby would be born with unexpected complications. She wasn’t supposed to make it. Thankfully between Boston Children’s Hospital and Molly’s incredible fight to live, we now have an almost nine month old at home. It’s been a rewarding almost nine months but they sure are different this time around.

She NEVER sleeps, only eats solids from sucking on a pouch (I had previously made all my sons baby food so this crushed me a little), and we have been to physical therapy since she was three months old. Molly is happy and healthy, but unlike my son…Molly is MOODY. Sometimes just looking at her upsets her. I know not all of this is due to her traumatic entry to the world, and each baby will be different.

I never guessed they would be complete opposites, but yet still both look like my husbands twins (ugh, I want a baby to look like me!) Molly makes me tired, but each night when I’m up with her I end up in tears of joy for getting the chance to be Molly’s mom.  I can’t forget how lucky I am to be a mom of my wonderful son as well! I am one very thankful, lucky, blessed, tired, mom!”
