Best Places To Watch The Leaves Change This Fall

Take your children and explore one of the most exciting parts of fall – the changing leaves! Here are some of our favorite places across the country to see the myriad of colors. Get your cameras ready!

  1. Aspen, Colorado:

Aspen is a gorgeous place year round but witnessing the leaves changing in this Colorado hotspot is truly breathtaking. The fall views are at their peak in late September but can also be seen in early October.

  1. Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri:

While most people travel to Lake of the Ozarks during summer, fall is also a great time to make your way to this Missouri gem. There’s truly nothing like taking in all fall has to offer while on the water.

  1. Upper Peninsula, Michigan:

This midwest hotspot is a must to watch the leaves change. Visit one of the many state parks and take in the scenery with your little ones, they’ll be forever grateful.

  1. The Berkshires, Massachusetts:

The Berkshires is home to art, culture and gorgeous scenic views, making it an absolute must for families across the globe. While October is the best time to witness the leaves changing, the Berkshires are a great place to visit year round .

  1. Door County, Wisconsin:

Located between Lake Michigan and Green Bay, Door County is truly one a kind. Stay along the water and explore the outdoors as the leaves change colors this fall.

  1. New Haven, Connecticut:

Travel to the beautiful state of Connecticut this fall and explore all New Haven has to offer. While Mid-October to early November is peak foliage, New Haven is a always a great place to visit.

  1. Oakland, Maryland:

Oakland is so well known for its gorgeous fall colors that the town throws an Autumn Glory Festival every October, complete with parades and concerts.

  1. Asheville, North Carolina:

Take a trip to North Carolina and witness the beauty that is Asheville. While October is the best time to see the leaves change, you can also witness it in early November.

  1. Charlottesville, Virginia:

Charlottesville, Virginia is home to gorgeous fall colors, among other things. Drive to Carter Mountain Orchard and witness the beauty of Charlottesville for yourself.

  1. Skaneateles, New York:

Get out of New York City and travel to Skaneateles this fall, located alongside one of the Finger Lakes. Explore and take in its immense beauty on a leisurely boat tour.
