Sandwiches can get boring after a while so we rounded up some creative sandwich substitutes to pack your child’s lunch with this year. Check out the recipes for these three delicious back to school lunches below, your children will love them. 

PIZZA PINWHEELS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp. yeast
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2-3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2-2 cups Ragu Six Cheese Pasta Sauce and extra for dipping
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups total pizza toppings (mini pepperoni, diced ham, sliced olives, and pineapple tidbits, etc.)

SPAGHETTI PIE

INGREDIENTS

For the Crust:

  • 4 cups cooked spaghetti
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

For the Filling:

  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

For the Sauce:

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound lean hamburger or sausage
  • 1/2 tsp crushed dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese

SILLY SNAKE HOT DOGS

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 (11-oz.) can Pillsbury Refrigerated Breadsticks
  • 6 hot dogs with cheese
  • 12 dried currants
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sharp Cheddar Cold Pack Cheese Food (from 8-oz. container)
  • Tiny squares of American cheese
  • Tiny strips of red bell pepper
