As we enter the holiday season we wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that we are grateful for. We asked moms across the country to share their stories of gratitude – writing about the people that help them through this messy journey of parenthood. If you are interested in contributing, send us a note. We’d love to hear from you!
I’m grateful for our sitter, Judy – to be honest I don’t know what I would do without her. She started watching my oldest son, who is now 17 months old, when he was 3.5 months old. As a first time mom, going back to work was an emotional time and Judy made the transition seamless by providing updates and pictures throughout the work day. Finding someone that you entrust with your child’s care is a daunting and difficult task but I’m beyond thankful everyday that we have her. She is much more than a sitter but like another grandmother. We just welcomed a second son in August and she will also be watching him when I return to work; I look forward to seeing his face light up when he sees Judy just like his big brother’s does.
