We’re busy getting ready to land in Brooklyn for our third stop on the Gearapalooza Tour on Tuesday, April 2. While there are so many events and resources for parents and parents-to-be in Manhattan, we are proud to have been bringing Gearapalooza to the borough of Brooklyn for the last three years. We want to take a second to introduce you to a couple of our favorite New York Moms who will be joining us at Gearapalooza this week!
We want you to meet….
Name: Brianne Manz
Age: just turned 38 eeeek!
Kids and ages: 6,7,10
Where do you live? Battery Park NYC
Tell us about yourself…
What is the best part about where you live? There is never a shortage of things to do, see or visit here!
Favorite thing to do with your kids in your hometown. I think for us it would definitely be the playgrounds or a trip up to Central Park!
Favorite date night in your hometown. My fav place for date night for Jason and I is a dinner at Bond Street. It’s been my fav sushi restaurant for years now! And also our new obsession is a date at High Dose…new infrared sauna!
What are five things that you could not “mom” without?Hmmmm five things I cannot MOM without would be:
- My jet-black subscription (it’s avail for NYC folks now but I simply text anything I need and get it delivered right to my door.)
- Instacart: I can order all my Whole Foods groceries and get them delivered!
- Drybar: I get a blowout once a week and it stays for a week. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done because I never have to worry about washing my hair and can still feel put together each and every day!
- Planetbox lunch boxes: It allows me to pack healthy lunches for my kids and yet get creative too!
- When my kids were younger, my UPPAbaby was my ride or die! I was able to tote all three kids around town. It was my car!
When you have time to yourself, what do you like to do? My downtime usually includes a blow out and mani, pedi, massage at M Plaza in Tribeca!
Who are your “mom idols”? Well of course my mom! She’s my best friend and gives me the best advice! I do love following Rachel Zoe. She really keeps it real and shows the struggle of the mom/life balance! And if I ever need or want a laugh I always turn to Cat & Nat!
What is one piece of advice for new moms that you wish someone told you before motherhood? As cliche as it is but enjoy every moment – the good and even those sleepless nights because they really do go by so quickly!
Tell us a little bit about your blog/Instagram account. Stroller In The City is celebrating its 10th year! (kinda hard to believe!) I started it as an online journal for family and friends talking about my journey in motherhood. Stroller In The City boasts about city living, family travel, kids fashion and all things that are mommy. Being a mom doesn’t mean you need to lose sight of the cool stuff.

Work life: I am a health coach and fitness/health blogger. I started Healthy Alibi in 2016 as a way to share my journey and communicate with likeminded women looking to start a healthier lifestyle!
What has been the biggest reward of motherhood? I can’t say yet, but the biggest reward of pregnancy so far are the kicks!!
What’s your best “mom-hack” you think other moms could benefit from? (We all one at least one time or sanity saving tip that everyone would want to know…spill it!) I could say that a pregnancy pillow is the best pregnancy hack!
What is the best part about where you live? I live in the best most vibrant city in the entire world. I was born and raised here and I could never live anywhere else!
Favorite date night in your hometown: Il mulino!
When you have time to yourself, what do you like to do? I love to take a bath and read a good book or watch a show. Truly nothing makes me happier or more relaxed 🙂
Who are your “mom idols”? My mom of course! Also Hilaria Baldwin & Jessica Alba!
How do you balance it all? I currently balance by always putting my health & family first but always making time every day to get my work done. I am so grateful that I am able to do what I love and have a flexible schedule to be able to balance both.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? “You Can Call Me Al” by Paul Simon!!!
Tell us a little bit about your blog/IG account/online persona and what is your mission behind it:
My blog is called Healthy Alibi and is Lifestyle-Fitness-Health-Wellness focused! I had just left a seven year teaching career and was looking for something new. I enrolled at IIN (integrative Nutrition school) and began learning about health coaching while growing my instagram @healthyalibi at the same time. Eventually it grew to the point where people would actually message me to see if I could coach them. It such a passion of mine to help people better their relationship with food and with themselves. I truly believe that maintaining a healthy & fit lifestyle begins on the inside so that is always where I begin with my clients. My Instagram is a way for me to communicate daily with my followers as well clients. I share tips on healthy eating, nutrition, pregnancy, mental health, wellness and even fitness fashion. It’s such a privilege for me to be able to communicate everyday with my followers, relating and sharing my experiences at each life stage. I feel so blessed.
For more from Allie, you can follow her on Instagram @healthyalibi.

Work life: I’m a model, social media influencer and wellness entrepreneur.
What has been the biggest reward of motherhood? Remembering back to the bond I formed with my daughter while she was in the womb and now living it every day seeing her little face!
What’s your best “mom-hack” you think other moms could benefit from? (We all one at least one time or sanity saving tip that everyone would want to know…spill it!) Swaddle before the feed, that way when they’re passed out milk-drunk it’s an easy transfer to the bassinet!
What is the best part about where you live? After 10 years living in Manhattan, I love the more relaxed and family-oriented vibe in Brooklyn.
Favorite date night in your hometown: Going to an oyster bar followed by a foot massage.
What are five things that you could not “mom” without?
- App-controlled white noise machine
- Diaper wipe warmer (much less tears when wipes are warm on the tush)
- Nail-clipper with safety window (so you see where you’re snipping!)
- Reclining breastfeeding chair
- Amazon Prime!
When you have time to yourself, what do you like to do? Take a long shower and put a face mask on.
Who is in your mom tribe and how did you meet them? Thankfully this is an easy task in Brooklyn – everyone is so open to connect and help each other as so many young parents are going through the same journey. We meet in our building, the neighborhood, through work and also social media.
What is one piece of advice for new moms that you wish someone told you before motherhood? Get stocked up on sleep, lots and lots of it.
How do you balance it all? By realizing it will always be a work in progress and not perfect – that’s OK.
If you had a theme song, what would it be? At this point probably something from the white noise machine 🙂 Maybe rolling waves? 🙂
