What has been the biggest reward of motherhood? “When my kids, un-provoked tell me they love me” -Melissa

“Being a mom is unlike any other job. It is the most exhausting, and most difficult, but when you walk into their rooms in the morning and they smile and reach up to you, there is nothing better. Watching them grow and use manners and exude love is extremely rewarding.” -Brittany

What’s your best “mom-hack” you think other moms could benefit from? (We all one at least one time or sanity saving tip that everyone would want to know…spill it!) Make peanut(nut-free) butter & jelly sandwiches and freezing them and then taking them out in the morning to add to the lunch box. They un-freeze and are delicious by lunch time!- Melissa

“The crock pot! Being in Chicago, the winters are long and there are so many amazing, easy, healthy, warm crock pot meals that are dummy proof. Turkey chili is one of our go-tos.” -Brittany

What is the best part about where you live? Living so close to a big city, we can take advantage of what both the suburbs and the city has to offer!

Favorite thing to do with your kids in your hometown. Chicago is home to so many amazing sports teams with die-hard fans. It is fun to take your kids to sporting events and make them fans at a young age!

Favorite date night in your hometown. “We love to try one of the hot new restaurants in the city with an early reservation and then be back in bed at a reasonable hour to watch a show together.” -Melissa

“We love to go for Mexican! Mexican food and Margaritas! Perfect night!.” -Brittany

What are 5 things that you could not “mom” without? 1. Google Keep to organize to-do’s 2. Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother 3. A good mom tribe 4. Step 2 Push Around Buggy Ride 5. Little Giraffe Blanket

What are your 5 must-have items in your diaper bag?

1. Finger Puppets 2. Snacks; puffs, yogurt melts, goldfish, veggie sticks 3. Wubbanubbs 4. Costco Wipes/Water Wipes 5. Throw away place mats

I love so many tv shows, “A Million Little Things”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” to name a few! I also love taking a bath! – Brittany

Who are your “mom idols?” Our own moms are great idols! Both of our moms were women who were extremely involved in our day to day, showed un-conditional love always, and are now exuding that same sentiment to our children as Gigi and Nana!

Who is in your mom tribe and how did you meet them? The Chaotic Commute has helped to build a new mom tribe for us. Finding other like-minded women going through similar things day to day is so helpful!

What is one piece of advice for new moms that you wish someone told you before motherhood? “Most of what you need to know is already inside you.” -Melissa

“It is ok and completely normal to cry!”- Brittany

How do you balance it all? We don’t have it all figured out yet, but we take it one day at a time, and we look to each other to lean on.
