Stuart Brazell: Crib Notes from a New Mom

Hi! My name is Stuart Brazell and I’m a TV Host, Entertainment Reporter, Lifestyle Blogger, Social Media Influencer and now NEW MOM! My sweet Baby Asher just turned 7 months and oh what incredible ride this has been so far. Usually this time of year I would be in the home stretch of awards season, hosting live televised red carpet shows at the most glamorous events and awards shows interviewing Hollywood’s biggest stars. This year I completely missed even watching the Golden Globes on TV and I couldn’t be happier! Being a mom is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me!  I’ve experienced an incredible perspective shift and have grown leaps and bounds as a person. I’m currently enjoying each moment with my little and focusing on my blog and discovering new things about myself every day. We are getting ready for our first big international trip as a family of three and we are so excited! I’m a full-time mom and I’m also working full-time from home on various projects creating content for some incredible brands. I no longer have ‘ME’ time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Stuart Brazell’s  NEW MOM MUST-HAVES:

CRIB NOTES ITEM 1:
Love to Dream Swaddle! I can honestly say either I’m the worst swaddler in the world or my son is Houdini. We nicknamed him Ashdini, because no matter what me and my husband did he could break out of our swaddles. I was so stressed until I discovered Love to Dream. I could zip him up in seconds instead of sweating over swaddles. Asher could self soothe and slept better than ever and eventually through the night!
CRIB NOTES ITEM 2
Zip and Kimono Style Rompers and Onesies from Sapling Child. Asher HATES when I try to put clothes on over his head, so zippers and onesies saved me. I discovered Sapling Child’s super cute zipsuits and kimono style onesies and they are so soft. It’s already hard enough trying to get your newborn dressed when you are a new parent, let alone when they are unhappy. They have super cute prints and are high quality.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 3
Rhoost Baby Nail File Set. I never realized how hard it would be to trim your baby’s nails! Luckily I found this cute baby nail set and have been using it ever since. I swear Asher’s nails grow back over night! I get so nervous trying to trim them, so sometimes I just file them down.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 4
Yoee Baby – so cute for baby’s first toy! It is an all-in-one toy: developmental, sensory, stuffed animal, a rattle, crinkle paper and a soft silicone teether, so Asher has been loving this for many months now. Right now he is teething like crazy, so he has found this to be very soothing. I find it hilarious to look at 🙂
CRIB NOTES ITEM 5
Nuna LEAF™ grow – This is such a cool seat! When you have a newborn you get so nervous to put the baby down anywhere, but trust you need a break! Just a gentle nudge sways the LEAF™ grow from side-to-side. The gentle motion is super calming and usually lulls Asher to sleep! Plus this is something that will grow with him and it has different angles for both playing and napping.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 6
Gymotion® Activity Playland – This is an awesome gym mat and activity center that Asher will be able to use for a long time. We started out using it for lay and play and tummy time, now Asher likes to sit up and play, which is so cute! There are more than 20 developmental activities and evolves with the baby in 3 stages of play that encourage growth and learning during the critical developmental stages of your child. I know Asher’s Gymotion will keep him happy for a decent amount of time so I sit with him and play or sit next to him and get some work done on my laptop.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 7
My Brest Friend – I tried a lot of different breastfeeding pillows but this one is my favorite for the newborn stage. With other pillows they never stayed in the position I wanted them to, but this one you strap it on, so you know it is secure. Plus it has pockets so you can always keep your nipple cream and water with you.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 8
Fridababy DermaFrida the SkinSoother – this is a great brush to use during your baby’s bath time and a must if they get cradle crap. Asher got a really bad case of cradle cap, so I paired this with Dr. Eddie’s Happy Cappy Medicated Shampoo and thankfully it cleared up after a few weeks.
CRIB NOTES ITEM 9
Hevea Crown Pacifier – this is the only pacifier Asher will use. He spits all the other ones out! The ergonomically butterfly shape gives space for nose and chin, it is 100% natural rubber latex and it is soft and gentle on baby’s face.
