Los Angeles Summer Bucket List
Alondra Park Splash Pad, Torrance – so fun to let the kids splash and run around!
Rocketship Park, Torrance – awesome spot to play and kids can climb the iconic rocketship many stairs up to the top!
Checking out Tide Pools/ go on a hike in Palos Verdes – great to get a little exercise and expose kids to a little ocean learning at the same time!
Story Time at Hermosa Beach Library – who says summer can’t be educational? Nice to get a little reading in and play with the different toys that the library has.
The Point, El Segundo – great spot to grab a bit to eat and let the kids check out the lifeguard tower turned play area!
Los Angeles Zoo – always fun to see the animals and learn about their habitats
Aquarium of the Pacific – perfect for all ages! Kids can see tons of sea life up close and there are even some hands on exhibits.
Dodgers Game – fun for kids to experience the fun of a ball game and it’s always a great time cheering on the boys in blue!
Omni La Costa Resort & Spa. Just a short and scenic drive from Los Angeles, is one of our families favorite resorts, the Omni La Costa. Eight pools, a splash pad, a spa, and a kids club/childcare center are just a few of the reasons why I could spend every moment at this wonderful resort!
Annenberg Beach House. This is one of our favorite beach spots because there is so much to do for everyone and no membership required! They have a splash pad, playground and a pool all just off of the beach and plenty of other options for the perfect summer beach day!
Disneyland. Disneyland is one of the staples of a SoCal Bucket List for any time of year. This summer Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, an All-New Land is opening and the talk of the town. My girls are still a little young for these movies, but we are excited to check it out!
Adventure Playground. Ever since I’ve heard of this place I wanted to take my kids, but they were a little too young as it’s for ages 5-12. This summer I plan to take my oldest daughter so she can raft on the small pond, go down a mudslide, build forts and get dirty!
Underwood Family Farms. We love fresh fruit and veggies and nothing is more fun that picking it yourself. We love going to the farm and checking out what is in season, grabbing one of the large wagons and hitting the field to pick our own. There is a lot of other fun activities as well for the kids, so it makes for a full day!
Griffith Observatory. There are so many wonderful things to see and learn about at the Griffith Observatory for FREE! The public star gazing party is definitely on our list along with checking out the programming for children “Let’s Make a Comet.” The perfect STEAM summer activity for kids!
California Science Center. The CSC has so much to see and do it will take a few visits this summer. Most of the permanent exhibits are free and there are also paid experiences like the IMAX movies and the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Now through January is also a fun and unique exhibit all about Dogs!
El Capitan Theatre. Toy Story 4 is coming out this summer and what better place to watch than Disney’s Home on Hollywood Boulevard! There is always extra perks when watching a movie at the El Capitan as you enter the theatre, the Side Street Strutters Jazz Band performs Pixar favorites alongside Buzz & Woody live on stage and there will be Toy Story 4 Photo Ops in the theatre lobby!
Vasquez Rocks Hike. I’ve wanted to take the kids exploring Vasquez Rocks and the nature center for quite some time now. It’s about 45 miles north of Los Angeles and from what I hear has some amazing rock formations and a stream. It’s a great place for a family hike and a history lesson!
Paradise Cove Malibu. Surf, beach or eat with the kiddos at this gorgeous beach!
Will Rogers State Park and Hiking trail. Amazing for kiddos! Hike, visit the ranch, go horseback riding, picnic + more! Quality outdoor time with the family!
Santa Monica Promenade and Pier. The best shopping and dining district on the westside! It draws people from all over so you can eat, shop + enjoy people watching!
Abbot Kinney – Lunch and walk around! It’s a mile-long stretch of popular shops, restaurants, and galleries located in the Southern Part of Venice, California. It stretches from Venice Boulevard to Pacific Avenue and is home to one-of-kind local goods as well as internationally recognized brands
Venice Beach Boardwalk. Nonstop entertainment with famed sandy stretch and beachside promenade with street performers, bodybuilders, shops & eateries
Kidspace Childrens Museum. Tons of fun for the kids! Lots of exhibits are outside – water + mud!
