Denver  Summer Bucket List

1. Stanley Marketplace
http://stanleymarketplace.com/
Stanley Marketplace is a community of 50+ businesses working together to offer a place to eat, drink, work, play, learn, grow, gather and explore, to see friends and make new ones. An arcade, bagel deli, coffee/ice cream/donut shop and gymnastics studio are just a few of the places that appeal to both kids and grown-ups alike. Stanley is also the home of Camp Christmas, Denver’s newest family-friendly holiday experience, where yuletide traditions of the past and present get merrily mashed together in a massive 10,000-square-foot wonderland.

2. Apex Center
https://apexprd.org/facility/apex-center/
The Apex Center just outside of Denver offers 23,000 square feet of indoor water fun: body and tube slide rides, a zero-depth water playground, a vortex, activity and lap pool as well as adult and family hot tubs. When it’s just too cold outside and/or skiing just isn’t your thing, head up to this incredible indoor oasis!

3. Second Star to the Right
https://www.secondstartotherightbooks.com/
Second Star is a whimsical and colorful independent bookshop, newly in Platt Park on S. Pearl street, but fresh off a 4 year tenure in the Highlands. They specialize in children’s and young adult books, but are a bookstore for everyone. The space also has toys galore making it a one stop shop for all of your holiday/birthday needs. Check out this neighborhood gem on December 6th at 10:30am for a free story time with Bump Club and Seventh Generation!

4. Urban Air Adventure Park
https://www.urbanairtrampolinepark.com/
Take a break from the snow and bring your kids to Denver’s newest adventure park. Naps are pretty much guaranteed after spending a few hours in this park that has everything from dodge ball, climbing walls and trampolines to bumper cars and virtual reality. They also serve food (AND wine) which makes this place super convenient around meal time (on the menu – cauliflower pizza)!

5. Nature and Science Museum
https://www.dmns.org/
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is bursting with activities that help build a strong foundation of science skills in young children as they look, ask, discover, make, and share. Exhibits, activities, and programs focus on science process skills, such as observing, quantifying, inquiring, analyzing, creating, and communicating. Children can “excavate” fossils, manipulate and observe water in action, experiment with building methods and materials, and conduct investigations and create art projects. And, until April 2020, your kids will go bananas over the Pixar Exhibit – an immersive experience that explores how Pixar Animation Studios brings their films and characters to life.

6. Children’s Museum of Denver
https://www.mychildsmuseum.org/
Even without its new Adventure Forest (the 500 ft. long aerial adventure course and immersive art installation) the Children’s Museum of Denver should be on everyone’s winter bucket list. On mild Denver winter days, their outdoor play area, including a zip line, offers hours of entertainment for the little ones. And when temps are chillier, there is PLENTY to do indoors, including a full size fire truck, kitchen, art zone and bubble room.

7. Snobahn
https://snobahn.com/
SNÖBAHN has brought the successful international concept of indoor ski and snowboard centers to the mile high city. From early learners of all ages, to the most advanced technical athletes, SNÖBAHN will foster improvement and progression in a fun and safe environment. An amazing place for littles to test the ropes before hitting the mountains.

8. Lava Island
https://lavaisland.com
Lava Island is an indoor park with 15,000 square feet of trampolines, 23 themed climbing walls, and 21,000 square feet of ladders, slides and mazes. The space balances active play, imaginative exploration, family time, quality food, and time away from screens and devices – all set in a tropical-themed indoor park. Expansive, yet clean, this is a great place to spend a snowy afternoon.

9. Great Play of Cherry Creek
https://www.greatplay.com/cherrycreek
Great Play offers interactive gym classes for infants up through school-age children, their mission being for every child to develop a love of physical activity that will lead to an active, healthy and confident life. Through a specially designed program of “directed play,” children build confidence, self-esteem and social skills as they build a strong physical foundation. Those who joined us at the BCB playdate here over the summer can confirm that Great Play is a major win with the kiddos!

10. Georgetown Loop Railroad
https://www.georgetownlooprr.com/
The Georgetown Loop Railroad is located only 45 miles from Denver and nestled high in the Rocky Mountains. Whether you’re a planner or a spontaneous adventurer, the Georgetown Loop Railroad has a train and mine tour waiting for you. At the height of the season, they run nine departures from two stations per day. A crowd favorite is the North Pole Adventure train where you can join Santa and his helpers aboard decorated, enclosed, heated coaches throughout the holiday season until December 24, 2019.

Nicole, 39, is our Denver Market Leader.  She has two kiddos, Sam (5), Max (3).  She helps bring our BCB community of mamas together in her area by maintaining a community of moms and families by arranging monthly free playdates and workouts and sharing resources.  Her favorite part about living in Denver is being so close to the mountains and having access to tons of beautiful places for day trips/quick getaways. AND, the abundance of sunshine.
