Lindsey Lee Willson: What’s In My Hospital Bag?

By Emily Savage

Lindsey Lee Willson, 36, Denver-based mom to three boys Breck, 8, Bowan, 6 and Bridger, 3, is getting ready to add a GIRL to her brood – she’s due on Valentine’s Day 2020!  We’ve been following Lindsey’s blog,  LindseyLeeandtheboys for years and can’t wait to see the joy that baby girl is going to bring to this family!  Lindsey recently shared with us her hospital bag must-haves as she prepares to welcome Baby Girl to their growing family.  You’re definitely going to want to check out all of the amazing tips from this soon-to-be, fourth time mom.

What items are you packing in your labor + delivery hospital bag?

1. Fawn Design Weekender
We spend so much time during our pregnancies planning for our babies, I think it’s so great to plan a few extra great things for ourselves. Besides, we end up sharing everything with our kids anyway! The Fawn Design Weekender has tons of space to store our hospital necessities  and it’s made of vegan leather!

2.  A Newborn Nest Set
This is one splurge I definitely recommend for adorable photos at the hospital.  A Newborn Nest makes the photos and moments more personalized and adorable. Plus, the products included in the Nest are so thought out and useful for the hospital stay. The babies can grow with the blankets and the other products can be kept as keepsakes in memory boxes. I personally love the Pot of Gold bundle for my rainbow baby.

3.  Solly Baby Wrap
I love baby wearing and I’m so thankful I get to babywear one more time with my 4th baby. Solly Baby recommends womb to wrap for closeness, skin-to-skin, and bonding. Plus, if you bring your wrap to the hospital, your health care provider can check your fit for any help with using your wrap. If you’re new to wrapping, watch the tutorials on the Solly Baby website or the IgTV series 30 days of Sollytude to help with your learning curve. I can’t help but love all of the styles, but Natural + Grey Stripe is probably my absolute favorite.

I’m also packing a Solly Baby Blush Swiss Dot swaddle + a sleep gown + sleeper set because the softness, style + design are so cozy.

4.  Burt’s Bees Baby
I love packing my own trial sized baby wash because I want organic + natural products on my baby, especially in the early days.

5.  Little Butt Bowtique Headbands
I’m finally having a baby girl, so that little girl needs some bow options! I’m packing some different styles + colors of bows, because you just never know what they will look like and what color or style is speaking to you for some precious newborn photos. Plus, Little Butt Bowtique offers a super soft pacifier clip that is also a great idea to pack.

6Sprigs Life Supplements
I absolutely love the Sprigs Life Prenatal Vitamins. I’m bringing some with me to the hospital to continue to care for myself after I deliver. I know it’s easy to put myself last once my baby is born, but it’s so important for great post-natal care especially when nursing.  I also can’t recommend Morning Joy enough. I was so nauseous in the beginning, and I still have nausea some days. This is a must have!
A few other favorites from Sprigs: Belly Balm, Postnatal Releaf an Elderberry Raw Honey Sambucas Syrup!

7.  Modern Knot
I’m going to be a little real, birth can be sweaty and we may or may not take a shower right away in the hospital. I completely recommend some adorable clips from The Modern Knot, so just add some clips or a headband  and take the pics with your newborn anyway.

8.  Kickee Pants Nightgown and Robe
I say don’t put pressure on yourself to get dressed right away. A robe is always a good idea in the hospital, perfect for nursing + skin to skin. I’m also packing a Kickee Pants nightgown for me, a newborn footie set for baby + a Kickee shirt for my husband.

9.  Vilah Bloom Simple Clutch
The Vilah Bloom Simple clutch is perfect for a credit card, insurance card, birth plan, notebook if you’d like to journal after the birth + any other small things you don’t want to forget. Plus, you’ll find me with the Cafe Crossover as my diaper bag once we get home.

10.  GoSili Tumbler
A non-toxic tumbler for all the hydration is always a must!

Any more?
I can’t live without a toothbrush! 11. And, this is the softest toothbrush I’ve ever found. Infant nail clippers, something borrowed, something blue- like the blue booties all three of my boys wore as newborns. I absolutely love the 12. Quinn St. gowns, super affordable + extra soft + perfect for diaper changes. 13. pediped crib shoes. An instax camera + film so the big brothers can capture the experience of meeting their baby sister from their own perspective. Gluten free and dairy free granola bars, just incase I can’t find enough GF and DF food at the hospital. A 14. Logan + Lenora Weekender with clothing and snacks for my husband. 15. Bamboobies are a must have for me in the early days. 16- Maternity + Nursing bras + leggings are a must have for the trip home.
