A little bit about yourself and your social media profile/account/blog/business, etc. Basically tell us what your mission is!

My mission is to create content, moments, and connection for others to discover their own inner magic, to find what they love the most, to learn how to heal, and to connect deeper within themselves and with the world around them. I am not a wellness entrepreneur by accident; it is what I love. I believe that we are all on this journey to learn deeply about ourselves, to grow, to love one another, to dive deep into life and get out of it as much as we can – to be the very best version of ourselves – for ourselves, and for our communities.

Work life (please tell us where you work, what you do, title, etc. If you have your own company, tell us about it.)

I am the co-founder of Modern Muze, along with my best friend, Zulay Henao. We are a multicultural, multimedia lifestyle brand focused on creating content, events, and partnerships that elevate the mindset through self- discovery and our four pillars of Soul, Science, Sex, and Society.

I am also the Owner of MY RITUELLE which is a more personal wellness brand centered around healing and mindset shifting coaching and online courses.

What would someone be surprised to learn about you?

Mondays are my favorite day of the week (I know…that may sound a bit annoying), but I truly love them. I look at them like a clean slate with a whole week of potential experiences, moments, magic ahead. You never know what is going to come your way, and I use Mondays to get positive about the week and call in everything positive!

How do you balance it all? Do you have any #momhacks to share that makes this easier?

That’s a great question…I think balance is accepting that there isn’t much. When we let go of control, roll with it, we automatically feel more balanced. I do have a #momhack that I discovered about six months ago and it did change my life, and I felt happier. I started the #5amclub by Robin Sharma, where you wake up at 5 am and sweat, meditate, and learn for 20 minutes each. Modern Muze is launching our own version of this soon, that I think will blend better into mama life and give us moments/ outlets for balance throughout the day…stay tuned!

Talk to us about mom guilt…do you have it? How do you combat it?

I think we all do. The truth is, our kids are first in our hearts, so anytime we do something that feels like it is taking away from them, we put this unnecessary guilt on ourselves. I combat this by realizing that my daughters want to see me successful. They want to see me happy, and they are learning while I grow and while I make mistakes. I combat any mom guilt by sharing with my girls what I am working on, why I have to leave for a meeting and why it is important, and what I learned. We also have deep talks about how we all spend our time when they are at their dad’s house, so we always feel connected.

What’s at least one regular family routine you have implemented to keep your family running smooth (i.e. family dinner time every night, family meeting every Sunday night etc)?

We have dinner together every night and that is important. Sometimes we mix it up and will watch a movie with dinner, sometimes we laugh and talk about the day, sometimes we cook together – we mix it up, but dinner at night together is very important to me.

Who is in your mom tribe and how did you meet them?

I have friends of all ages, some with children, some without – so I don’t really consider myself a “mom tribe” person. However, my friends are amazing. I am incredible lucky, and they always listen to my mama questions whether they have them or not 🙂

What is one piece of advice for new moms that you wish someone told you before motherhood?

Find something that you look forward to do on the sleepless nights when your baby is not sleeping much. Read a favorite book, do gentle yoga, watch a movie… whatever it is, letting go of the routine that night time is the only time for sleep is one of the best things I did for myself. Instead of stressing when my baby would wake up because I was exhausted, I would put her on my chest or lay her next to me and enjoy the time. Sleep comes back, I promise!

When you have time to yourself, what do you like to do?

I am a meditation teach and a writer, so I love to find beautiful quiet places outside to just “be.” I also love to get lost in writing and am currently writing my first book.

What is the best part of your kids ages RIGHT NOW?

Watching them discover more about who they are and stepping into it powerfully.

What do you miss most from pre-pandemic life?

What are you most looking forward to when the pandemic is over?

Taking my girls on a trip, somewhere filled with adventure.

What is the best thing to come out of the pandemic?

Time together, getting creative, and slowing down.
