-Tell us a little bit about yourself and your brand/account/blog.

I am a birth mom, adoptive mom, and step-mom of 8 children. I accidentally fell into this career of blogging, podcasting and content creation when a photo of me breastfeeding my daughter (above) while sitting on the toilet went viral. I responded to all the hoopla in a piece I wrote for Huffington Post that also went viral. Since that moment, I have been on a mission to support all women in their journey to and through motherhood.

-You’re a new BCB moderator! Congrats and welcome! Tell us why you wanted to work with BCB and what you are most excited about.

I have been a long time fan of Bump Club & Beyond and I absolutely love working with new mothers. In the last 2 years, I began working towards earning my certification as a postpartum doula and a babywearing educator. Then this opportunity came about and I immediately jumped at the chance to support new and expecting mothers through this amazing work.

-How do you balance it all?  Do you have any #momhacks to share that makes this easier?

Ha! I don’t believe that balance is actually possible. I think there are times that you will be killing it with work and not so great at momming and sometimes you may be rocking it as a mom a barely getting by at work. One of the biggest hacks is to have as much grace with yourself as you would give your kiddos because motherhood is the ultimate learning curve.

-Talk to us about mom guilt, do you have it?  How do you combat it?

I definitely have mom guilt and I hate it. How I combat it is when I feel guilty, I do that thing anyway because 99.99% of the time the guilt is completely unwarranted.

-What’s at least one regular routine you have implemented to keep sane?

I read romance novels every single night. It’s the perfect way to shut my brain off and have a little mini escape. And my husband and I often reap the benefits (if you know what I mean…lol).

-What is one piece of advice for new moms that you wish someone told you before motherhood?

Motherhood is a lesson in letting go and the sooner you learn to let go (of expectations) the easier this motherhood journey will be on you… not easy, just easier.

-What is one product you can’t live without?

My Purple Harmony Pillow. I swear by this pillow and it has helped keep my neck and back from locking up on me after pregnancy and breastfeeding ruined me.

-Back to school is quickly approaching, any tips to manage the transition from “crazy fun summer” to “school time routines”?

Melatonin! With a doctor’s ok of course.

-Anything else you would like to share?

I absolutely love writing about all things motherhood. I wrote a mom self care workbook and journal, have been a staff writer for Scary Mommy and am currently working on my first book.
