We provide home visits to moms and babies with a focus on lactation consultation, breastfeeding support, and newborn care. Our referrals come from pediatricians, obstetricians, midwives, other healthcare providers as well as other new parents we have worked with. We enjoy a strong partner base that offers us wonderful resources to share with you.
Lactation Partners were the first guest speakers at a BCB event and have been working with Bump Club and Beyond since 2010 as Resident Lactation Experts.
Lara Field is a Registered Dietitian (RD) with a decade of clinical experience. She has worked with patients at top-ranked pediatric hospitals, including the University of Chicago Medical Center and Lurie Children’s Hospital. Lara is a wife and mom of two boys, living the life of a busy parent just like many of her clients!
Not surprisingly to those who know her, Lara has always made eating right a top priority for her busy family, despite personal and professional obligations that often pull her in multiple directions. As one dedicated to not allowing hustle and bustle to compromise the quality of her own family’s eating, Lara knew years ago that she could help other families and individuals cope with their own health issues. Lara assists clients with time-strapped lifestyles to successfully manage health conditions, food and weight issues, and overall healthy lifestyles that are medically sound, enjoyable, and actually work. That’s why she founded FEED in 2008.
Lara knows that much of the information we get about food and diet comes from the food industry instead of medical and health professionals. As the founder of FEED, Lara’s made it her mission to cut through the “food noise,” both one-on-one with clients and also as a regular guest on Chicago TV news programs and as a speaker at nutrition and medical conferences. She’s also been quoted in national publications on infant feeding practices, food allergies, celiac disease, and other health topics.
Lara received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed her Master of Science in clinical nutrition from Rush University. She completed additional specialized pediatric training at the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
A specialist in pediatric nutrition, Lara has completed additional coursework managing food allergies and has specialized training in pediatric nutritional care, including clinical experience at the intensive care unit and pediatric gastroenterology and (liver-focused) hepatology clinics. Lara proudly serves as a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and is active with the Chicago Dietetic Association and the Chicago Food and Nutrition Network.
She lives in Chicago with her husband and their two sons. Her active lifestyle includes running – she’s completed three marathons – and at home, she loves cooking for her family and testing new recipes.
Lara has been working with Bump Club and Beyond as a Resident Nutrition Expert since 2010.
Since founding Swellbeing in early 2007, Janeen has been helping parents unlock the keys to happy and harmonious family life. She works with parents of infants through school-aged children. On the sleep front, common challenges range from bedtime protests to night wakings to nap refusal. When it comes to potty training, Janeen provides parents with a step-by-step roadmap to make the transition from diapers to potty. Janeen’s thoughtful approach to discipline offers parents strategies that nurture a healthy relationship and strengthen a child’s ability to self-regulate. It is in those difficult parenting moments that Janeen offers parents insights into why a behavior happens and tools to nurture growth. From tantrums to acting out to separation anxiety, Janeen’s experience as a mother and background in clinical psychology shine through.
I love my job; I adore helping those who are having a tough time with their child’s sleep gain clarity and confidence to make the changes needed to gently support their child and help them learn the skills they need to get themselves to sleep as well as back to sleep during the night.
I have been working with families for over 20 years and as a children’s sleep consultant for ten years. I am British (cup of tea anyone?) and currently live in Seattle with my Engineer husband, two teenage daughters (maybe I should have something stronger than tea) and German Shepherd.
I would love to help you and your family get a better night sleep, of course, it’s tough, but I’m here to support you and your unique family, so put the kettle on, make that cup of tea and let’s get started.
